# What is a passkey ？

🔐 What is a Passkey?

A **passkey** is a modern, secure way to log in or access your accounts **without using a password**. Instead of remembering long passwords or storing private keys, a passkey uses **biometric verification** (like Face ID, fingerprint) or a device-based method (like a PIN or system password) to confirm your identity.<br>

#### 🧩 In CPcash:

When you create or access a wallet with a **passkey**, you don’t need to store private keys or recovery phrases. Your identity and access are tied to the device you trust.
